standardization organization in charge of mainly CDMA2000 and its succesive technologies

LMDS:
broadband wireless access system working point-to-multipoint mainly in rural environments
MIMO:
radio technique based on multiple transmitters and receivers
OFDM:
radio technique based on multiplexing narrowband frequencies, that minimizes interference between carries
UMA:
wireless system that allows to make seamless handover between local and wide area networks (also known as GAN)
UMTS:
broadband wireless system that came after GSM, and mainly used in Europe e.g.
UWB:
radio technique that uses a large shared bandwidth and normally has a short range
WiFi:
wireless local area network, high speed but limited coverage
WiMAX:
high speed wireless wide area network, based on the IEEE 802.16 standard
WLL:
radio technique for a user's local loop (network access point)
